Nectar Mattress Review for 2019

Launched only a couple of years ago, Nectar is now among the most reputable brands on the mattress market. We’ve decided to take a closer look at their flagship model, a memory foam mattress that offers extra support and contouring.

This is an all-foam bed comprised of three layers, which, combined, give this mattress an 11″ profile. These are the foundation layer, the transition layer, the comfort layer, and the cover. Each of these layers is made out of various foams. This is a standard when it comes to best mattresses in this price category.

The exterior of this model provides a soft and luxurious feeling. However, the model is on the firmer side of the spectrum. This doesn’t make it uncomfortable, though, especially if you’re a heavier sleeper.
In the following paragraphs, we’ll analyze the Nectar Mattress in more detail. Read on and find out everything about its features!

Nectar Mattress Features

The Construction

Nectar Memory Foam Mattress is an all-foam model that is 11 inches thick and comprised of four layers.
The first of these is the foundation layer, which provides shape and stability. It is six inches thick and comprised of high-density poly-foam. There’s a transition layer above it. Its job is to ease the user into the firmer layer below it. Above the transition layer, there are three inches of memory foam. This is the so-called comfort layer, which provides the user with some pressure relief.

On the very top of the mattress is the cover. It is comprised of standard cotton and eco-friendly material called Tencel, which is well-known for its breathability and softness. The cover is very comfortable and has a square design, giving the whole Queen Nectar Mattress a premium look. Although removable, the cover should only be spot-cleaned.

The Feel

As it sports three different layers, this mattress has a unique, dense-memory foam feel. However, as it uses a slightly different composition of the materials than many competing models, it feels somewhat firm at first. Upon lying down on the bed, the user won’t sink down immediately.

Instead, it’s more of a process. It takes between 5-7 seconds for the Nectar to soften and its materials to contour to the user’s body shape. It’s a very comfortable mattress and an excellent choice for side sleepers who like the feel provided by memory foam.

Like with most beds of this type, a deep bounce is not present. Even though there’s a somewhat deeper hug and the foam is slow-responding, you won’t experience the “trapped” feeling. This will be crucial to combo sleepers.

Motion Transfer & Edge Support

If you have a sleeping buddy, two essential factors you need to consider are edge support and motion transfer. We’re happy to say that the Nectar Mattress delivers in both categories.

This is a great mattress for couples as it does a pretty good job of deadening movement. This is especially true if you have a sleeping partner who is constantly rolling over and switching sleeping positions. With excellent motion isolation, this model can provide both partners with a peaceful night.

We were also pleased to find that it provides decent edge support, too. Even though many innerspring and hybrid beds perform better, Nectar Memory Foam Mattress still does a good job. As the user approaches the edge, there’s little to no compression – you won’t feel like you’re going to slip off. This comes in very handy when one person takes a lot of space on the bed, leaving the other to sleep close to the perimeter.

Temperature Regulation

Beds are generally rated as cool, warm, or neutral. In our opinion, the Nectar Mattress deserves the neutral designation. It’s a well-known fact that memory foam retains heat, and can cause hot, sleepless nights. However, this bed is relatively thin and uses gel-memory foam. For that matter, high temperatures during sleeping are not an issue.

In other words, this model won’t heat you up when you’re sleeping, and it also won’t do anything to keep you cool. This doesn’t go for the super-heavy sleepers, though. An overweight person might sink in deeper than an average person, causing the model to retain some of their body heat.

An important thing to realize here is that many external factors can affect one’s sleeping temperature. These include the use of an electric blanket, the use of air conditioners, as well as the climate one lives in. So, it’s not all up to the mattress itself.

Other Considerations

One of the most significant benefits of buying the Nectar Memory Foam Mattress is the included warranty deal. The company backs this model with the so-called Forever Warranty. To put it simply, the manufacturer is ready to replace the defected mattress in the first ten years of use. In years 10+, they will repair the material failures and manufacturing defects.

Moreover, the model is also covered with a 365-night trial period. This gives the buyer a chance to test out the bed. A full year of the trial period is 250+ days more than what most of the competition offers.

Conclusion

Using multiple layers, the Nectar Mattress provides the user with the ultimate support and comfort. It’s an especially good choice for combination sleepers, as it is on the firmer end of the medium spectrum. Couples will also find it to their liking, thanks to the good motion isolation and the edge support.

For that matter, it’s safe to conclude that Nectar’s flagship mattress offers a good value for the money. We recommend it to all those looking for a medium-firm option with a long warranty deal.
